This project is designed to provide some of the resources aged care facilities require to effectively implement "no lifting" policies and practices so that there is reduced risk of nurses and carers suffering manual handling related injuries. This project aims to: - To provide education to employers and employees to facilitate the implementation of the no-lift strategy - To achieve a significant reduction in the incidence and severity of work related manual handling injuries through introduction of no-lift practices - To improve the quality and safety of care to residents and clients - To provide advice and support in the selection process for the acquisition of essential equipment - To identify the most effective forms of training for the industry in relation to the implementation of manual handling initiatives This is a follow up report after a further 12 months of implementation at the workplace level.
