The purpose of this code is to assist persons to manage workplace health and safety risks, posed by traffic, to workers and other persons while construction or maintenance work is occurring on, or adjacent to, a road.
This code of practice:
- provides information about some of the hazards and risks associated with traffic management for construction or maintenance work
- provides information on traffic control measures
- clarifies the roles and responsibilities of traffic controllers and associated persons, and
- provides recommendations for training in the application of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Part 3 (MUTCD Part 3) for persons associated with construction or maintenance work on, or adjacent to, a road.
This code of practice has been amended to be consistent with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. The changes to these codes of practice are minor and ensure the continued efficient and effective operation of Queensland's health and safety arrangements.
