These guidelines are intended to assist drivers, employers, operators and schedulers, as well as users and customers of road transport to manage heavy vehicle driver fatigue through the creation of a fatigue-management system. This will assist parties to meet their general duty to manage heavy vehicle driver fatigue under Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) laws and the new road transport heavy vehicle driver fatigue laws.
