The aim of this project was to develop and produce a rehabilitation and return to work information kit for workers with language and literacy needs by: - addressing the identifiable problems for injured workers - developing awareness on problems injured workers have with rehabilitation and return to work process - developing employers and unions awareness of strategies to facilitate workers in rehabilitation and return to work Expected outcomes for the project were: - production of a rehabilitation and return to work kit - production of an implementation guide for managers and union reps - improved systemic skills for employees with language and literacy needs The resource will enable employees to improve skills in the following: - reading information - developing vocabulary and conceptual understanding of various facets of the process - participating in the development of return to work plans
