This project investigates fitness for work issues, such as fatigue, drugs and alcohol in the long haul truck driving industry of South Australia. The project report is divided into three sections. The first section summarises the current literature as it pertains to fitness for work and the trucking industry in Australia. The second section presents an overview of the legal and regulatory issues while the final section details the data collected from the pilot study and makes training and education recommendations that will assist stakeholders manage fitness for work within the industry.
