Abstract:
The Health and Safety Executive have been tasked to reduce the incidence of work-related skin disease by 2010, measured against an incidence rate for the year 2000. A previous study on the prevalence of dermatitis in the printing showed current reporting schemes to underestimate the true burden of the disease. The aim of the current study is to re-examine the data collected by this previous study using a questionnaire and explore whether or not it can provide baseline data on the incidence of occupational dermatitis amongst printers for a twelve-month period at or about the year 2000.
