Publications previously produced by SafeWork SA and ReturnToWorkSA (previously WorkCoverSA) are made available online via this Library catalogue for research purposes only. This title may reference superseded South Australian legislation, include links to web pages that have moved or no longer exist, or may refer to other documents that are no longer available.

This report supports an independent review of the South Australian workers rehabilitation and compensation legislation - it highlights the need for updating and reviewing the SA WRAC legislation to reform the scheme to make it fully-funded, fair to workers and affordable to business.

Divided into four sections:
  • Return to work - enhancing return to work incentives and reducing disputation to improve return to work outcomes and the financial sustainability of the Scheme
  • Levy - strengthening the levy system’s effectiveness to ensure the fair and efficient collection of employer levies with incentives aligned to improve injury prevention in high risk industries
  • Self-insurance - modernising self-insurance arrangements to ensure effective regulation of this significant component of the Scheme
  • Other proposed legislative change - making a number of technical adjustments and other minor improvements to the WRAC Act.

Includes supplement June 2007.
