Research has shown that shiftworkers have higher injury rates and this is confirmed by the findings of
this report. The aim of this report is to determine whether the elevated risk of shiftwork affects all groups of shiftworkers or only particular groups of shiftworkers. This will be achieved by using statistics from a nationally representative survey to compare specific groups of shiftworkers to their non-shiftworker counterparts. This report also analyses the characteristics and outcomes of work-related injuries to determine whether there are significant differences between shiftworkers and non-shiftworkers.
