On Monday 2 June 2003 the Employment and Workplace Relations Committee tabled its report on the Australian workers' compensation schemes. The aim of the report and background information is included. The report examines incidence and cost of fraudulent claims, issues and practices in workers' compensation schemes, fraud detection and elimination, safety records and claims profiles, rehabilitation programs and benefits, and conclusions drawn for the need for national consistency.
