Final report for Year 1 of the AMEU, Vehicle Division - Safety first project. Objectives of the project were: to assess the effectiveness of current monitoring procedures for injury/incident in the workplace and degree of use to identify workplace hazards; to develop a uniform accident and incident reporting/recording system to monitor injury occurences; to initiate the involvement of workers through the establishment of work groups; to initiate and assist in developing education and training modules for workers, health and safety representatives and shop stewards; to encourage and assist companies in developing training programs.
